Devin Sender - Head Coach
About: The boss, gymnast, climber, designer, friendly, loud, MDT qualified, an ideas man.
Previous: A provincial gymnast in his young days, Devin represented SA in Germany. He started Rockfit Crossfit Climbing Gym in 2012 and managed Rock Monkeys Climbing Club. Many years working as a coach and a few business opportunities later, INSIDEedge Climbing Club was born in 2018 in its current home at CityROCK Johannesburg. Devin has volunteered on the local Gauteng Climbing committee, but his love of coaching and mentoring comes first, and a few young climbers under his wing have gone on to represent South Africa as Junior Proteas.
Now: Head Coach of INSIDEedge Climbing since 2018. Mentor and biggest supporter of all members aged 6 to 60. Resident go-to guy and in-house club coach within CityROCK Johannesburg.
Michelle Dowds - Operations Manager
About: Efficient, tough, runner, drama queen, she takes no prisoners.
Previous: Being an accounts administrator for most of her working career, Michelle has worked at The Foschini Group, Nissan, Regent Insurance, Mondo Meccano, and Platinum Residential. Volunteering as Secretary at Gauteng Climbing and the South African National Climbing Federation provided valuable insight into the operation of sport climbing in South Africa.
Now: Alongside her business Accolyte Administration, Michelle is the chief accountant and manager of all things operational at INSIDEedge Climbing. She gets you signed up, collects your money, books all members' lessons, and communicates like a pro.
